Strawberry Pudding Trifle

Strawberry season is one of the best times of the year! It brings back memories of my mom and I berry picking in the strawberry fields of Ohio. The lucky thing about living in North Carolina is that we not only have a variety of berry farms, but strawberry season for us usually starts in April! It’s like Summer came early!! Like with anything I am partial to our local strawberry farm Patterson Farms, they have been my go to since I moved here 7 years ago. Their berries are not only amazing in size, but they’re the brightest, juiciest and sweetest.

Now what do I do with all of those delicious red berries, I freeze some, make jam, and eat as many fresh berries as I can, because there is nothing like fresh berries during berry season. Once it’s gone you’re gonna have to wait until next season, because even though there will be strawberries in the store they will never taste the same as those fresh April-May berries.

One of my favorite strawberry recipes is this Strawberry Pudding Trifle. You can never go wrong with pudding, now add berries, and angel food cake you’ve just created a winner! The orange zest gives it a citrusy pop that breaks up the sweetness of the pudding and angel food cake & the berries they put this dessert over the top!
