- Strawberry Simple Syrup
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
7 strawberries hulled and chopped
- Strawberry Lemonade
2 cups of strawberries whole, but hulled
1/4 cup sugar
1.5 cups lemon juice (roughly 8 lemons)
1 cup strawberry simple syrup
3 cups ice
3 cups water
Optional garnishes include frozen strawberries and lemon slices
Directions
- Making the Syrup
- Add all ingredients into a small saucepan and heat on medium, bringing it to a simmer. Remove once the sugar dissolves. About 5 min. (DO NOT BOIL!)
- Strain through a mesh sieve into a glass measuring cup.
- You can do this ahead of time, makes about 2 cups. I only use 1 for the recipe and save the other for later.
- Making the Lemonade
- In a large pitcher add your strawberries and remaining sugar. Stir them and let them sit for about 5 minutes.
- Juice your lemons, and add your lemon juice to the pitcher.
- Add water and ice to the pitcher and 1 cup of the strawberry simple syrup and stir.
- Enjoy immediately or save for later!
- Adjust flavor to your taste buds, see notes below!
Notes
- If too sweet add more water.
- If too tart add some more of the strawberry simple syrup.
