Ingredients

  • Strawberry Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 7 strawberries hulled and chopped

  • Strawberry Lemonade
  • 2 cups of strawberries whole, but hulled

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1.5 cups lemon juice (roughly 8 lemons)

  • 1 cup strawberry simple syrup

  • 3 cups ice

  • 3 cups water

  • Optional garnishes include frozen strawberries and lemon slices

Directions

  • Making the Syrup
  • Add all ingredients into a small saucepan and heat on medium, bringing it to a simmer. Remove once the sugar dissolves. About 5 min. (DO NOT BOIL!)
  • Strain through a mesh sieve into a glass measuring cup.
  • You can do this ahead of time, makes about 2 cups. I only use 1 for the recipe and save the other for later.
  • Making the Lemonade
  • In a large pitcher add your strawberries and remaining sugar. Stir them and let them sit for about 5 minutes.
  • Juice your lemons, and add your lemon juice to the pitcher.
  • Add water and ice to the pitcher and 1 cup of the strawberry simple syrup and stir.
  • Enjoy immediately or save for later!
  • Adjust flavor to your taste buds, see notes below!

Notes

  • If too sweet add more water.
  • If too tart add some more of the strawberry simple syrup.
