Easy Classic Venison Meatballs

Who doesn’t love a good meatball?

I think we could all use a classic meatball recipe. One that we can use in any dish from Italian pasta dishes, to BBQ appetizers. And this recipe is it!

The best part is that they can be frozen & used in a pinch whether be for a quick weeknight meal or a last minute party!

A few tips to make sure your meatballs are extra delicious!

-Make sure your onions are diced nice & small, no one wants big chunks of onions in their meatballs.

-The key to a perfect bite size meatball is to keep them small, perfect for appetizers & main dishes.

-Don’t overmix your ingredients!

-Don’t forget to brown those meatballs, it adds flavor & the perfect texture!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground venison

  • 1/4 cup chopped yellow onion

  • 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1 TBS chili powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 TBS olive oil for browning

Directions

  • Heat Oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine all ingredients into a bowl, using your hands work the spices into the meat.
  • Shape meatballs into the size of 1 tablespoon.
  • Heat Olive oil in a skillet, brown each meatball, rotating them until all sides are brown.
  • Transfer to a cookie sheet, lined with foil and bake for 10-15 minutes.
  • Once cooked & cooled. Leave them on the sheet, put in freezer, once frozen transfer to freezer bag.
  • Save them for a quick easy crockpot meal!
