Smash Burgers with Tangy Smash Sauce

Hey there burger lovers!

May is finally here, and you know what that means? It’s Beef Month! And what better way to celebrate than talking about one of the most delicious and mouthwatering burgers out there: the Smash Burger! Now, before we dive into the juicy details, let’s take a moment to appreciate the sheer beauty of a perfectly cooked Smash Burger. The crispy edges, the tender and flavorful patty, and that irresistible charred aroma that fills the air… it’s pure burger heaven! It’s all about letting the beef shine and creating a burger that’s bursting with flavor.

Smash burgers can feel a little intimidating, but I promise once you make them you’ll be hooked and this will become a go to recipe!

Here are a few things to know! When it comes to making the beef mixture, the melted butter is essential to getting that crispy burger crust! You got to have a great smash sauce, no smash burger is complete without it! I love the flavor that the BBQ sauce adds to it.

When it comes to toppings, caramelized onions are a MUST, and we can’t forget the cheese for me it’s got to be smoked gouda or good ole’ American cheese.

Now these may not be the healthiest option, but we all crave comfort food every once in awhile! For me a good burger is at the top of the list when it comes to comfort food!  Spend the month of May and all Summer long indulging in this delicious burger!

  • Directions-Burgers
  • In a medium bowl add your melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Then add the ground beef, using your hands work the mixture into the beef.
  • Form into 4 even balls, and stick in the refrigerator for 20 minutes, you want them to be cold so that the butter doesn’t immediately melt when the burgers are cooking.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet until it’s very hot, place each burger onto the skillet, letting them cook for about 20 seconds, using a precut piece of parchment paper (this prevents sticking) place on top of each burger & using a cast iron press or large flat spatula, press down to flatten the burgers.
  • Try to do this in one swift motion, the burgers will be sizzling.
