I’m Tasha the girl behind Rural Roots, I’m a mid-western farm girl living in the south. My recipes are inspired by my farm roots & my wild adventures!

Growing up on my family farm I’ve learned that farm & field to table food is the best! I was raised on fresh milk when we had a dairy farm, my mom’s garden vegetables, our families’ beef, and the game that my brother & dad would harvest. Now that I’m older my husband and I harvest our own wild game and grow a decent size backyard garden and we just added chicken farmers to our repitoire! I love to be as self sustainable as possible, one day we will have our own farm and the limits will be endless for what we can do!

If we don’t have it in our freezer or garden then I do my best to shop local whether it be local family farms, or the local farmer’s market. There is something so satisfying about knowing where your food comes from, have you ever eaten an egg from a grocery store and then had one from a local farm? Then you know what I’m talking about – there is a difference.

I come from a long line of cooks & bakers and thankfully I continue that tradition today and have started to make a career out of it. Food is love, I love cooking & baking for people, there is a satisfaction and happiness I get when someone digs into a dish or sweet treat that I have put lots of love into.
