Christmas Holiday Recipe Roundup 2023

Christmas is just about here…like seriously, it’s in a few days! And I’ve found there are two main camps of people when it comes to holiday preparation: those who have had their shopping done for months and their menu planned since December 1st (AND all of the ingredients were in their kitchen at least a week prior)… OR those of you who still have 38 things left on your to-do list and you’ll be going to the store on December 23rd 😉

For those of you who may be in the second camp, this blog post is for you! Are you still needing some inspiration for your holiday meals? I’ve got you covered! In this blog, you’ll find a few recipe favorites that I think would be perfect for your Christmas menu!

Let’s start with a breakfast idea. These Cranberry Orange Muffins are a great way to start your morning! They are easily something that can be made ahead, which can make your breakfast hustle go so much smoother! Also, these make great neighbor gifts!

Next up, an appetizer that never disappoints… a classic cheese ball! This Dried Beef Cheese ball is small enough for two or can be modified to feed a crowd. Also, super to easy to transport if you’re traveling!

Before getting to the main course, it’s good to have a salad. With all the carbs and sweets this time of year, a little serving of vegetables never hurt anyone. I introduce to you, my Pear Walnut Salad with an amazing balsamic dressing. Festive and delicious!

Moving right along to a classic side dish. I can’t think of a time for either Thanksgiving or Christmas when a delicious and creamy mac and cheese wasn’t on the menu. It’s non-negotiable if you ask me! You’ve got to try my Baked Macaroni and Cheese. P.S. there’s bacon involved… need I say more?

If you ask me, you can never have enough cream or cheese, especially around the holidays. Which is why I love this Quail Wild Rice Casserole as a main dish option. If you have access to quail, amazing, your dish is about to be the main discussion topic at your family gathering (it’s not every day your family eats quail!); but if you don’t, fear not, chicken can easily be substituted!

Last but certainly not least is arguably everyone’s favorite part of a holiday menu: the desserts. Cookies are a classic Christmas staple because you can never have too many varieties. Two delicious options would be my Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Cookies and my Christmas Casserole Cookies. They may sound a little unorthodox, but trust me on this one!

And that’s a wrap on your 2023 Holiday Recipe Roundup! I hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year with your loved ones and that your bellies get just as full as your hearts. Food, conversation, and togetherness are some of my favorite things, which is part of what makes the holidays so special. Thanks for being here and have a wonderful holiday!
